Since the emergence of ChatGPT, there has been much talk in education about Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) apps and tools. Much of the discussion has been focused on how Gen AI will replace teachers and how students will use Gen AI to write their papers and complete assignments and projects. While both of those issues may have some merit, it is important to reshape how teachers approach the use of Gen AI in the classroom. 

Gen AI is here to stay and will be a part of our students’ future, therefore we need to account its potential for designing teaching and learning. This innovative seminar will introduce new pedagogical practices that Cypriot Schools can adopt around Gen AI to use in class processes, in student engagement, and for assessing learning outcomes.

The objectives of the seminar are:

• Gain invaluable knowledge on how to use Gen AI to up-skill teachers practice classroom delivery and assessments.
• Recognize that education systems need to be challenged by Gen AI for supporting student engagement.
• Analyze the pedagogical technology enhanced learning methods.
• Design new learning experiences that promote the 4Cs in education.
• Demonstrate comprehensive expertise, knowledge and practical examples using Gen AI technologies and advanced educational resources.
• Acknowledge the value of Gen AI and Machine Learning are important drivers for personalized self-paced learning.

This expert educator professional development seminar aims to provide Middle and High school principals/managers, educational curriculum consultants with the latest state of the art tools, platforms and educational pedagogies to enable the development of the following types of knowledge, skills and attitude-related objectives. Precedence will be given to those institutions that approved by HRDA or the Ministry of Education and Culture.

After the 14-hour theoretical seminar, the trainer/expert will offer a 4-hour consultation to the participating companies.
