ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ

Kinanis Academy is pleased to announce this training program on the 21st of June 2024, which deals with the legal framework and practical application of the Law on Termination of Employment (Law 24/1967) in Cyprus. The purpose of this training program is to make participants aware of the actions that can be of a significant nature with regards to the distinction between a lawful and an unlawful termination of employment, as well as the rights and entitlement of the dismissed employee upon termination, either lawful or unlawful.


This seminar contributes to Continuing Professional Development for 3 CPD Units and it has been verified by CYBAR Association.

Trainers


Costas Apokides, Counsel, Litigation Department

Costas Apokides holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). In 2015 he was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association. He commenced his traineeship at a local law firm and he then practised litigation from 2016 before joining KINANIS LLC in 2020 as a litigation lawyer where he gained extensive experience in various areas of law, such as corporate and commercial litigation, employment law and administrative law, and more specifically negating and drafting of commercial and employment contracts, resolving disputes and acting for a broad range of commercial clients. 

Since 2022, Costas is heading the Litigation and Employment Department of KINANIS LLC. Costas, is also an accredited arbitrator. He has extensive experience with regards to employment matters and more specifically advising clients in relation to termination of employment and engaging in negotiations with counterparties as well as handling cases before the Employment Tribunal. 



Mikaella Christoforou, Associate Lawyer, Litigation Department

Mikaella Christoforou, holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), has successfully completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M). In 2021 she commenced her traineeship at KINANIS LLC. Following successful completion and admission to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2022, Mikaella has been engaged in litigation and employment cases of the Firm. Mikaella mainly focuses in employment law cases and more specifically in negotiating and drafting of employment contracts, advising in relation to all kinds of employment law queries, including but not limited to terminations of employment, employees’ rights and employers’ obligations and reorganization of businesses.

Mikaella is an accredited Mediator and member of the International Mediation Institute, and as from November 2023 is also a member of the Employment Law Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association.
