Born in Nicosia, started accounting by chance after winning a scholarship for LCCI Elementary in an event’s lottery at age of 13. In about 1 ½ years passed also both intermediate and higher level becoming the first one worldwide who passed the higher level at age of 14.

After completing the school and GCE A-levels (Pure maths, Statistics, Accounting) and GCE O-Level (English) went to army for military service and became an officer.

Studied Accounting Financial Management and Economics in the University of Sheffield (BA Hons).

After graduating from university, worked and trained with PWC Cyprus, becoming an ACA, passing all exams at first attempt (since 1/2/2012 became an FCA).

Then worked for a year as a financial analyst and after that for 5 years at Cyprus College as a lecturer in IFRS (as well as ISA auditing) for professional courses (ICAEW, ACCA, AIA) and IFRS long-duration seminars in Greece.

From 1/10/2007 to 30/11/2018 worked at Grant Thornton in Cyprus where became a partner and member of the Board of Directors. As the firm’s IFRS expert, led the firm‘ s Technical Advisory and also was responsible for training and development of staff. In addition acted as the firm’ s Head of Quality. Other than IFRS technical knowledge and expertise, gained considerable experience in banking, primarily in loan asset quality and credit loss provisioning, as well as in other risk management, treasury, capital adequacy and liquidity. Experience included many other sectors like investment and forex entities.

Since 1/12/2018 returned back to Cyprus College as the Head of the School of Professional Studies in Limassol. Other than management duties, also a lecturer in IFRS for professional courses (ICAEW and ACCA) preparing students for their exams (some of them awarded with 1st place prizes). Also investing in acquiring knowledge on IFRS sustainability-related disclosure standards.

Professional competencies include strong management, presentation, communication and collaboration skills.

Married, with 3 children and... few pets. An active person in life, e.g used to be leader and trainer in scouting / youth organisations, an advance and rescue diver, enjoying any activities in nature and gardening.
