Valuation techniques and ESG considerations

ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ

A Board Member of KPMG Cyprus and his team will deliver a value adding seminar aiming to present participants with commonly used techniques for estimating business and intangible asset values, whilst explaining how a potential ESG strategy may affect the value of an enterprise.

With the ongoing energy crisis, as well as the overall economic downturn and disruptions, the need for enterprises to consider, plan and implement ESG strategies is becoming imperative. This need is further augmented by the relevant policies set both by European and global authorities and governing bodies, through the implementation of new regulations and directives that are set to impact the future strategies and decisions of market players.

At the same time, with the transition to a digital economy and the development of new technologies across all major industries, there is an increasing need for measuring and maintaining the value of intellectual property assets such as brands, patents, trademarks as well as internally developed software and other intangible assets. This need has become even more prominent in Cyprus whereby local governing bodies and investors are actively promoting the island in order to become a hub for international companies in the Information, Communications and Technology sector as well as for start-up enterprises.

Due to the above developments, this seminar is considered imperative for decisions makers and professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of valuation techniques and understand how the emergence of ESG affects such exercises.
