The Programming in Python programme is designed to help both beginner and experienced professionals develop strong Python programming competencies. Participants will learn how to build applications, automate processes, manage data, develop object-oriented solutions, connect applications to web services, and apply Python within data science and software development environments.
ΣΚΟΠΟΣ ΣΕΜΙΝΑΡΙΟΥ
By the end of this programme, participants will be able to develop Python applications, work with data structures and object-oriented programming concepts, manage files and web-connected applications, implement testing and exception handling, and apply Python techniques for software development and data science projects.

Course Outline
1 - Setting Up Python and Developing a Simple Application
- Participants will learn how to install and configure Python and work within a development environment. The module covers Python syntax fundamentals, writing simple scripts, creating a basic Python application, and identifying common coding mistakes and errors.
2 - Processing Simple Data Types
- Participants will explore Python variable types and learn how to process strings, integers, decimals, floats, and mixed number types through practical exercises and coding examples.
3 - Processing Data Structures
- Participants will learn how to create, manage, and manipulate different Python data structures while understanding when and how to use each structure effectively.
4 - Writing Conditional Statements and Loops in Python
- Participants will learn how to write conditional statements, use comparison operaactors, and implement loops such as “for” and “while” loops to control application behavior.
5 - Structuring Code for Reuse
- Participants will learn how to structure Python applications using functions and object-oriented concepts while improving code readability and maintainability.
6 - Writing Code to Process Files and Directories
- Participants will learn how to read and write text files, retrieve directory contents, and manage files and folders through practical Python coding exercises.
7 - Dealing with Exceptions
- Participants will learn how to handle runtime errors using Python exception handling mechanisms and implement strategies for managing unexpected application behavior.
8 - Selecting an Object-Oriented Programming Approach for Python Applications
- Participants will explore object-oriented design principles and understand the advantages of using OOP methodologies in Python applications.
9 - Creating Object-Oriented Python Applications
- Participants will develop object-oriented Python applications by creating classes, implementing methods, and using practical software design techniques such as the Factory Design Pattern.
