ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ

This training program equips personnel who participate in safety committees as safety representatives with the necessary knowledge and skills to actively and effectively carry out their duties and contribute to cultivating a culture of safety within their company.

At the same time, the program ensures company compliance with the legal framework of the Republic of Cyprus regarding health and safety in the workplace, as the employer is obligated to provide appropriate and adequate training to their employees. Specifically, the training of safety representatives is mandated by the Health and Safety at Work Laws (89(I)/1996) and the new regulations for managing Health and Safety at Work, KDP 158/2021 and KDP 238/2021.

ΣΚΟΠΟΣ ΣΕΜΙΝΑΡΙΟΥ

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

• Explain the provisions and requirements of the Law and Regulations on Health and Safety at Work.
• Identify the methodology of occupational risk assessment.
• Identify the main sources of hazards to Health and Safety in the Workplace.
• Implement legal requirements and good safety practices in daily work routines.
• Define protection measures against workplace hazards.
• Coordinate the effective implementation of the Written Risk Assessment Study.
• Contribute to the implementation of preventive measures to avoid workplace accidents.
• Conduct workplace inspections to identify hazard sources.
• Recognize their important role in promoting a culture of health and safety.
• Adopt internal procedures and control measures to prevent workplace accidents.
• Support their company in achieving workplace health and safety goals.

ΣΕ ΠΟΙΟΥΣ ΑΠΕΥΘΥΝΕΤΑΙ

The training program is intended for employees who are selected, elected, or appointed by their colleagues as "Safety Representatives." Safety representatives act on behalf of their fellow employees in all matters related to workplace health and safety.

The term “Safety Representatives” is defined in Article 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Laws of 1996 to 2020.
