The British High Commission is hosting a high-level conference titled “Safeguarding Cyprus’s Tourism Industry”, under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at City of Dreams Mediterranean..

This conference will mark the official launch of the ACT Awareness e-learning package, developed by the UK Joint Overseas Protect and Prepare (JOPP) Team of the Home Office, and now being formally rolled out for the first time in Europe—specifically in Cyprus.

This initiative represents a major milestone in our joint efforts with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to enhance public safety and preparedness across the island. The ACT modules will be made available on the official website of the Republic of Cyprus, offering accessible training for tourism professionals and staff, and supporting integration into standard security protocols across the sector.

Cost & Registration

Submitted registrations will be subject to approval by the organizers and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendance will therefore depend on the availability of spaces and fulfillment of the target audience profile criteria.

All successful applicants will receive a confirmation email. In the event that you do not receive such confirmation, then your registration will not have been approved.

Stylianos Kazakeos is the Director of Security at City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe’s largest integrated resort operated by Melco Resorts & Entertainment. With over a decade of international experience in corporate security, executive protection, and crisis management, he leads the design and implementation of advanced security operations for Cyprus’ flagship hospitality development. Stylianos is a certified security risk and crisis management professional and a member of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM), The Security Institute (MSyI), the Association of Security Consultants (ASC), and the Global SRMC network. His work focuses on intelligence-led protection, resilience planning, and inter-agency cooperation to strengthen tourism security.

Sanja Saler

Chief Sustainability & Compliance Officer, DPO Wavemaker Hospitality

Senior leader with over 20 years of experience in Risk, Compliance, Safety, Security, and Management Systems development within the hospitality sector. Expertise includes certification, regulatory compliance, ESG reporting, risk analysis, and insurance alignment across Property, Liability, Environmental, Cybersecurity, and Directors & Officers coverage. Proven track record in leading corporate policy development, governance frameworks, and process implementation, while managing a diverse team of 60 professionals across two countries. Experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO) overseeing privacy compliance for a portfolio of 20 hotels. Skilled in designing and delivering training programs in Risk, Compliance, Safety, and Security to enhance organizational awareness, accountability, and compliance culture.
