I obtained my Masters in Policy Studies (2003) and Ph.D. in Social Work
(2008) both from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I obtained my
first degree in Social Work (TEI of Crete) in 2002.
I currently
work as Lecturer in Social Work at Frederick University, in Cyprus.
Prior to this post, my most recent job was at the Office of Preventive
Mental Health of the Greek Navy. In the past I have worked for five
years as a social worker for Enable Scotland, in Edinburgh.
I
have given a number of talks in conferences amongst of them was the
World Congress 2009 of the World Federation for Mental Health (2-6
September 2009, Athens) and the4th International Conference on
Interdisciplinary Social Sciences (8-11 July 2009, Athens). Also, I have
given some talks as invited speaker in mental health hospitals. I have a
number of publications in international and Greek peer reviewed
journals and have also published two book chapter.
I have been
awarded two scholarships as an undergraduate and as a postgraduate and
research student, from the Greek State Foundation of Scholarships (IKY).
My
main research interests include organisational changes, organisational
development, de-institutionalisation, integration of community services
and health professionals’ job satisfaction.
