TTR Centre (Timber Training and Research Centre) is the only educational and research centre in Cyprus dealing with wood and its products, new materials etc. It‘s located in Nicosia, Cyprus. The main objectives of the centre are within the educational sector especially for the Furniture and Timber construction Industries of Cyprus. It also aspires to the development of wood and furniture firms in Cyprus, through applied research funding and collaboration with other European Research and Educational Institutes, professional organizations and union etc. Also, it aims in dissemination of research results and information of the enterprises about research and funding in the sector of wood. During the last years TTR Centre has developed a great and significant network with other research and educational Institutes in the wood sector across Europe.TTR Centre was participated with other European research institutes in two research projects under the ERA-NET CORNET program.
Work at TTR Centre is led by Michalis Socratous (director of TTR). Michalis Socratous also is the establisher of the Cyprus Union of Furniture Makers and Carpenters with over 200 enterprises as its members.
